Frequently asked questions
You are allowed to ask before you trust.
Clear answers about the experience, boundaries, photography and the distinction between therapeutic photography and healthcare.
What is therapeutic photography?
It is a guided photographic experience that can support self-exploration, self-recognition and a kinder relationship with your image. Conversation, consent, photography and the shared discovery of the portraits all form part of the process.
Is this medical phototherapy?
No. Medical phototherapy uses light or ultraviolet radiation for specific health conditions. This service is therapeutic photography: a creative portrait experience. It does not provide medical light therapy.
Is this psychotherapy?
No. Anne does not provide psychotherapy, diagnosis or mental-health treatment through this service. The experience may support reflection but cannot replace qualified psychological or medical care.
I hate being photographed. Is this for me?
It may be. You do not need to feel confident or comfortable before arriving. The session is designed for people who often feel tense, critical or disconnected when they see themselves in photographs.
Will you tell me how to pose?
You will be guided, but not placed into a rigid performance. Direction may involve movement, breath, posture, expression, light and moments of stillness.
Do I have to show my body or undress?
No. The level of visibility is always your choice. A therapeutic portrait can be fully clothed, close-up, subtle, expressive or quiet. Nothing is required for the experience to be meaningful.
Can I stop during the session?
Yes. Consent is ongoing. You can pause, change direction or stop. You can also decide that particular photographs should not be used or shared.
Where do sessions take place?
Sessions are available in Anne’s home studio near Nyon and in selected natural settings around Nyon, Geneva, Lausanne and Swiss Romandie.
Can the session be in English or French?
Yes. Sessions are available in both English and French.
How do I begin?
Start with a free discovery call. You can explain what brings you here, ask questions and decide whether the approach feels right without pressure to book.
